Delhi, January 14, 2020: Riding on the back of overwhelming response for thirty years, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd in collaboration with Delhi Traffic Police Safety Cell and Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM)kick-started the 31stNational Road Safety Week from 11th – 17th January in Delhi.

The week started with a walkathon from Rajpath on Saturday, flagged off by Shri Taj Hassan, Special Commissioner of Police and attended by senior officials from Delhi Police, SIAM, JK Tyre and other stakeholders.

JK Tyre has been an active participant in this yearly Road Safety Week since its inception in association with Delhi Traffic Police and SIAM under the aegis of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The company has deployed volunteers at prominent locations in the capital city for a week to create awareness about cautious driving practices. To encourage road safety, roses will be presented to traffic rules violators. Growing into a host of activities and campaigns through the week, workshops and safe riding rallies will be hosted in the city.

Mr. Ajoy Shah, a senior official of JK Tyre & Industries, will also address the need of tyre care, maintenance and its impact on safer driving, on the sidelines of a SIAM session on January 14.

Delhi alone saw about1300 unfortunate deaths due to road accidents last year.Awareness about basic rules while driving can further reduce this number and prevent near-fatal accidents. With Road safety awareness as one of the top-most priorities for JK Tyre, the company hasprovided training toschool bus drivers and conducted camps across the country for many years now.

JK Tyre has always been a proponent of safe driving on roads and JK Tyre-Constitution Club Rally is one such prominent initiative. Started in 2010, the annual rally along with parliamentarians promotes the cause of Road Safety educating on important aspect of safe driving.1st December 2019 too, saw JK Tyre with members of parliament and defence personnel conveying the message of road safety as a part of the 2019 edition of JK Tyre-Constitution Club Rally.
