"We wholeheartedly welcome Prime Minister’s e-VIDYA programme providing multi-media access to online and digital education for students from Class 1-12 immediately. While the private schools were conducting online classes, there were fewer arrangements available at the Government schools at the rural areas. During this unprecedented time, this step will not only keep the students motivated but will help them to continue with their studies while covering the syllabus which was  missed during the lockdown period.

While internet facilities are available to only 40% of the population mostly in the urban areas, imparting education through TV channels will benefit a large number of students. The provision for curating special content for the visually and hearing impaired students is very inspirational.

Extensive use of radio, community radio and podcasts will help students maintain social distancing and garner a positive outlook towards life in such uncertain times.

Starting of online courses by Top 100 universities, will ensure that the students who are in the colleges or in the final year of graduation don't suffer a break in their studies. Students adopt technology quickly and this program will provide an opportunity of skill development for not only learners but also to teachers and parents as well. The addition of 200 new e-text books will be a great help to the students in the rural areas.

Through One Nation, One Digital Platform, the Government of India has ensured it's determination to make sure that studies should not come to a standby under any situation. Launch of Manodarpan initiative providing psychological support to students, teachers and families is also very critical. At Aakash, we have been conducting e-classes through various platforms and will ensure that students have a seamless learning process while staying at home."
