Mumbai boy from BHIS Malad wins laurels at Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad Challenge

Where there is success, there are always students of Billabong High International School (BHIS). Carrying forward this proud legacy, Aryan Prakash, a 14 year-old, grade 9 student from BHIS, Malad won Gold and bronze medals in Mathematics Olympiad organized at Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC).

Aryan participated in an individual event of this competition where he secured 2 bronze medals followed by a team event called Math Master Mind where he led his team and won the Gold medal. He was accompanied by his team members from US, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand & Malaysia. These events were conducted live from Singapore and monitored with 2 cameras, primary and secondary.

Elated with his success, Aryan Prakash, said, “This win only motivates me to improve myself. I am privileged to have found the right mentor and a school that always encouraged me to pursue my passion. All this was possible due to the continuous efforts and the time my parents & teachers have invested in me and the confidence they have shown in me. I was accompanied by team members from different countries and, we were continuously in touch with each other virtually for this competition. Today we are winners and friends!.” he said

Commenting on Aryan’s achievement, Dr Madhu Singh, principal BHIS Malad, said, “I am immensely proud of Aryan for representing our school and our school and country at the international level and winning accolades. Aryan is an extremely brilliant student and he has a knack for solving difficult maths questions within seconds! Keeping in mind his inclination to numbers, we have always supported him to nurture his love for mathematics and provide him with the necessary encouragement to enter and excel in all competitions that bring out his strengths.”

Past achievements of Aryan include:

·         SINGAPORE AND SOUTH ASIAN MATHS OLYMPIAD, 2020-21 ( SASMO) where Aryan won a Gold Medal beating participants from over 19 countries in this Global Competition.

·         Secured the GLOBAL RANK 1 in Mathlathon Competition (October 2019 challenge), scoring a perfect 100/100.

·         Secured All India rank in top 3 positions in all the domains of Clash of Pi, a Global Maths Competition 2019 - 2020.

·         Ranked 1st in the All India Competition appearing for two grades 7th grade and 8th grade in IPM Mathematics Competition and secured National rank 25th & 44th respectively scoring 25.5/30 in 2019 - 2020.
