Mahindra University’s School of Law, one of India’s
fastest-growing multidisciplinary educational institutions dedicated towards legal
education, today announced the launch of its three-year flagship LL.B. (Hons.) program. The innovative program is aimed
at transforming legal education and nurturing a new generation of legal
professionals possessing expertise across imperative domains such as corporate
law, business law, criminal law, international law, intellectual property law,
civil & technology law, private law, and public law. The course structure
will cover both Indian legal systems, as well as public international law and
much more.
The holistic multidisciplinary curriculum aims at incorporating
future-ready and industry-specific specializations as elective honours. This
value-add will help students prepare for fast-transitioning judicial
environment, while enabling them to become well-rounded professionals capable
of handling the complex requirements of the domain. The School of Law’s student
exchange program with leading foreign universities opens up multiple career
opportunities for the students,opening up promising global prospects in
addition to the domestic possibilities.
On the introduction of this new age LL.B. (Hons.) course,
Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice-Chancellor, of Mahindra University said “As one of the largest and most dynamic
professions in India, the faculty of law requires practitioners to be agile and
flexible in their learnings and outlook towards the judiciary. Over the past
two decades, the demand for trained legal professionals has grown rapidly. As
per recent industry estimates, the intake for law professionals across India’s
leading law firms in 2021 exhibited an uptake of almost 15-25% and it’s further
expected to grow in the coming years. Our vision behind this innovative LL.B.
(Hons.) program is to offer students
in-depth knowledge about the intricacies of law and enable them to leverage
this knowledge in the service of the society and protection of the greater good.”
Dr
Sridhar Acharyulu, Professor, Dean School of Law said, “The
program has been designed keeping in mind the current industry trends which encompass
specialized courses reflecting new regulatory regimes, value add audit courses
and other credit courses, besides the mandatory courses prescribed by the BCI.
With the help of our deep industry relations and accompanied by an interdisciplinary
learning approach focused on experimental and industry-based learning, we aim
to empower our students with the ability to secure justice, equality and
service for all sections of the society. The flagship course is focused on
fostering a cadre of internationally qualified law professionals capable of
managing the evolving needs of the judiciary.”
The approved intake for the three-year LL.B. (Hons.)
program has been limited to 60 students. In order to be eligible for this
course, the students must have a score of 60%, or an equivalent grade, in under
graduation. The students also have to undergo a panel
interview to prove their mettle and secure their admission.The last date for receipt of applications
for admissions is 27th Oct
2022.
