Nothing can stop you from achieving your goals and aspirations if you have the will to succeed. One such inspirational tale of determination and perseverance comes from Krishnanshu Tanwar, a young boy hailing from a small remote village in Bharatpur District of Rajasthan.

Krishnanshu lost his mother when he was only six years old. His father, a Lab Technician, toiled day and night in the hope of providing a better life for his children. Despite all odds and limited means, he stood strong with his responsibilities towards his children and made sure that they got proper schooling, and set high aspirations for themselves.Krishnanshu was eager to make the best of his father efforts, and secured an admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Allahabad. Here, he came across Tata Motors’ sponsored NEET coaching—ENABLE, and with sheer hard work, ascertained a place in the programme.

Implemented by Tata Motors in partnership with the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) governing body, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) and its knowledge partners, Ex- Navodayan Foundation and Avanti Fellows, the Engineering and NEET Admission Bridge Accelerated Learning Engagement programme(ENABLE) is a digitally enabled remote learning initiative that prepares talented class 11 and 12 students likeKrishnanshuacross 552JNVs in the country to take JEE and NEET competitive exams. This includes access to all academic materials, mentor-led online and in-person classes, and a rigorous testing schedule with weekly tests.

This programme provided Krishnanshu with adequate coaching and preparation, enabling him to understand the NEET curriculum in depth and in great detail, while gaining access to expert counselling and an organised learning framework. However, it was not an easy journey for him, especially during the COVID era when the programme went virtual. The pandemic compelled him to return home, where he struggled until the very end to get proper internet connectivity in order to access the virtual classroom sessions. But he persisted and after overcoming many obstacles he was able to clear NEET 2020 in flying colours, achieving a remarkable All-India Rank of 53, with a score of 705/720.

Driven by sheer hard work and a steely resolve to never give up, Krishnanshu finally secured admission to the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) in New Delhi, one of the top five medical colleges in India. Recounting his time undergoing NEET preparation, Krishnanshu notes, I am glad to have been selected and be a part of the ENABLE programme, which has brought forward all the opportunities for NEET aspirants like me to pursue our dreams.”

Commenting on Krishnanshu’s inspirational journey, Mr. Vinod Kulkarni, CSR Head, Tata Motors, said, “Tata Motors has always strived to foster dreams, and through ENABLE – our initiative to empower India’s young minds – we not only want to contribute to their growth, but also enrich the talent pool of our country. We, at Tata Motors, are committed towards cultivating a culture of equitable education and will always be inspired by students like Krishnanshu who have the zeal, enthusiasm and desire to pursue their dreams. We hope to continue our pursuit of connecting the aspirations of young India, and with the ENABLE initiative, train 1 lakh students for JEE/NEET entrances by 2025, enrolling 30,000 of them in institutes of higher learning."

With 20 times lesser cost per successful student as compared to any other premier coaching programme in the country, ENABLE has helped create a 10-fold increase in access to careers in STEM. Overall, 35% of the students supported by this programme make it to prestigious engineering and medical institutes of the country.
