Aligning
with the commitment of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mushrooming
employment prospects for youth at the regional level, the Ministry of Skill
Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with National Skill
Development Corporation (NSDC), organized Kaushal Mahotsav at Kumbha Stadium in
Bundi, Rajasthan.
Till now, there have been over
10,000 registrations for the Kaushal Mahotsav and more than 4000 attendees
attended the event on day one. The candidateswere shortlisted and provided
offer letters fromcorporates like Larsen & Toubro, Barbeque Nation, Ambuja
Cement, TVS, Innovsource, Tata Capital, Yuva Shakti Foundation, and others.
The giant recruitmentevent
witnessed the participation of over 85 companies representing sectors like food
and beverage, textiles, beauty and wellness, healthcare, IT and others to
provide relevant job and hands-on-apprenticeship opportunities to numerous
participants in the state.
The programme was inaugurated
by Hon’ble Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla. Shri Ashok Dogra, MLA, Bundi;Smt.
Madhu Nuwal, Sabhapati, Nagar Parishad, Bundi; Shri S.S Naik, Regional
Director, Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Ved
Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International also addressed the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri
Om Birla, Lok Sabha Speaker said, “The Indian economy is on the road of
prosperity and development, and skill development initiatives are adding new
horizons of opportunities for the youth by making them future-ready. The
celebration of flagship events like Kaushal Mahotsav is a testimony of
Government’s perpetual efforts in building capacities and knowledge of the
youth and building a robust and demand driven skill ecosystem that balances
market opportunities with the aspirations of the youngsters. The initiative is
yet another step in the direction of empowering the youth of Bundi with a
well-rounded platform to provide exciting employment avenues for growth.”
Hon’ble Om Birla also presented
a demo of Krishi Viman Droneto the participants during the career fair. The
tech is aimed at reducing farmers’ dependency on depleting manual labour and to
eliminate the various inefficiencies and health hazards of manual spraying.The
agricultural drones can also be used to spray agrochemicals, measure field
mapping, monitor crop health andimprove yields.
Lauding the initiative, Ved
Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International said. “Since Hon’ble Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi gave shape to his vision of Skill India in 2014,
the skill development ecosystem has undergone rapid changes to increase the
employability of the youth in the new world order. Today, Kaushal Mahotsav is
bringing recruiters and jobseekers on a single platform to boost employment
prospects in India and abroad and contribute towards livelihood generation. I
can say with pride that as a new horizon of opportunities is opening, no stone
is being left unturned to fulfil the aspiration of our youth”.
Several Sector Skill Councils
(SSCs) and companies exhibited their offerings through a Skill Exhibition,
raising awareness about skill development for the youth. The candidates also
got an opportunity to take a free psychometric test and participate in group
counselling to get a better perspective on shaping their careers. The event
also featured experts, motivational speakers, and career advisors who helped
candidates in making informed decisions to boost their professional growth and
development. The candidate who missed leveraging the opportunities were
