New Delhi, 24th August 2023.
The Parag Initiative of Tata Trust today announced the commencement of applications for the 9th batch of its Library Educators Course (Hindi) for the year 2023. The course, which will be conducted in Bhopal, aims to empower librarians, teachers, and educators with the knowledge and skills needed to create dynamic and engaging library spaces for children, fostering the love for reading among young minds.
Library Educators Course (LEC) is a blended 7-month Professional Development Certificate course that delves into the essence of what a library is and its significance. It explores the significance of libraries in a society and its institutions like schools and in communities.
LEC is open to all educators and intended for teachers, school librarians, development sector professionals, literacy educators and language experts. Since its inception in 2015, the course has empowered more than 200 individuals, and this year, Parag seeks to enrol 35 individuals with a passion for reading.
Its holistic curriculum, developed by Parag with inputs from experts in the field, facilitates not only a deep connection with literature but also a nuanced understanding of children's literary works.
“The Library Educators Course is not only about reading - it is about inculcating a love for imagination, words, and literature among children. Our aim is to empower individuals to help them become the catalysts for change as more children turn to harnessing the power of the written word. The LEC and its curriculum have been received really well and we are humbled to see the number of applications coming in each year. This time as well, we are excited to see how the course continues to nurture lives and the love for reading”, said Lakshmi Karunakaran, Lead, Parag Initiative.
Applications are invited for the course and are
open till August 30, 2023.
