New Delhi, April 2024.

ParaSafe, a subsidiary of Paracoat, is dedicated to redefiningmobility by prioritizing safety across all modes of travel. Committed to revolutionizingroad safety tools and embedding road awareness as a standard practice, ParaSafe has
undertaken extensive research and published white papers to raise awareness and offeractionable insights for improving safety.

Road safety remains one of India’s most urgent public health and infrastructurechallenges. In 2022, road accidents tragically claimed 1.68 lakh lives. Despite significantadvancements in vehicle technology and infrastructure, the root causes—ignorance (65%)and weak enforcement of laws (52%)—persist. ParaSafe’s report sheds light on these
critical issues, with a particular focus on the state of road safety awareness and practices
in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Rajesh Poddar, CEO of ParaSafe, reflected on the findings: "Road safety isn’t just about following rules; it’s about saving lives. As an industry leader, it is our responsibility topromote accountability across all stakeholders—government, industry, and citizens. Thefindings reveal an urgent need to bridge gaps in road safety preparedness. At ParaSafe, webelieve that awareness and accessibility to essential safety measures, like first-aid kitsand harnesses, can significantly reduce accidents. It’s time we unite to ensure every
journey on India’s roads is safer and more secure."
