Jaipur, October, 2025.
Girnar Foundation, the CSR arm
of CarDekho Group, celebrated the festival of lights by spreading happiness and
empowerment among underprivileged communities in Jaipur. Through its Diwali
“Box of Joy” drive, educational kit distribution, women’s health awareness
session, and the Diwali Office Mela, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment
to building an inclusive and equitable society.
As part of the Diwali “Box of
Joy” initiative, the Foundation distributed 500 festive hampers across Pragati
Vidhyalaya, Paathshala Trust NGO, Dular Foundation, and slum clusters in Pratap
Nagar and Jagatpura. Each hamper contained sweets, namkeen, LED lights, and
crackers, ensuring that children and families could celebrate the festival with
joy and dignity. Extending the spirit of Diwali to long-term empowerment, the
Foundation also distributed 300 educational kits to students from Pre-primary
to Class 11 at Mahatma Gandhi Government School, Jaipur. On the same day, 100
sanitary napkin packs were distributed to adolescent girls at the school, along
with an awareness session on women’s health and hygiene covering myths, safe
practices, and responsible disposal.
Adding a festive touch within
the organization, Girnar Foundation has also organized a Diwali Office Mela at
its Jaipur office on October 17. Two NGOs—Chahat Welfare Foundation, with a
stall of clothes, and Apna Ghar Ashram, with a stall of Diwali decorative and
gifting items—will showcase their handmade products. This initiative allows
employees to support NGOs directly while shopping for festive items, fostering
inclusivity and promoting social entrepreneurship.
Speaking about the
initiatives, Pihu Jain, Head of Girnar Foundation, said: “Diwali is a
festival of light, joy, and togetherness, and at Girnar Foundation we believe
that true celebration comes from sharing and uplifting those around us. Through
our Box of Joy hampers, school supply kits, women’s health awareness, and
office mela stalls, we want to ensure that communities feel supported not just
during festivals, but in their everyday lives. Seeing the smiles on children’s
faces, the confidence of young girls, and the participation of NGOs is a
powerful reminder of how small efforts can create meaningful change.”
These initiatives reflect
Girnar Foundation’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Gender Equality (SDG
5), Good Health & Well-being (SDG 3), and Sustainable Cities &
Communities (SDG 11). By combining festive celebration with empowerment and
awareness, the Foundation continues to work towards its vision of building an
inclusive and equitable society where every individual can celebrate life’s
moments with dignity and hope.
