Kicking off a nationwide outreach campaign ahead of November, key stakeholders from government, industry and renewable energy sectors gathered today in Jaipur for the first in a series of regional roadshows for the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRE Summit) 2026, India’s largest renewable energy summit and expo. As India accelerates towards its target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, this inaugural event sets the stage for massive global collaboration.

Rajasthan, one of the leading states in clean energy execution, serves as a powerful model for India's clean energy ambitions through significant achievements across multiple sectors.Hosted by theMinistry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE),the roadshow brought together leaders fromthe Government of Rajasthan,Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL), the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA), Wind Independent Power Producers Association (WIPPA), and the Sustainable Projects Developers Association (SPDA).

Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 will be held alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH), bringing together global leaders, policymakers, industry, investors and innovators on a common platform.

Delivering the Inaugural address, Shri Rohit Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, RRECL outlined the state’s strategic roadmap for accelerating clean energy deployment. He emphasized that Rajasthan is moving aggressively beyond standalone solar projects to build a highly enabling investment ecosystem for wind-solar hybrid infrastructure, battery energy storage and emerging green fuels like green hydrogen.

During the welcome address ShriDinesh Jagdale, Secretary, IWTMA emphasized onthe importance of Bharat RE Summit and mentioned that the summit is precisely designed to create a structured dialogue connecting central and state government, investors, financiers, technology partners and industry associations so that India’s next phase of renewable growth is built on global partnerships

Shri Naveen Khandelwal, Treasurer, WIPPA & CEO, Yanara, highlighted the significance of the event: "As the host for this inaugural roadshow, WIPPA welcomes this vital pre-event engagement. Wind generation complements daytime solar production and supports round-the-clock power configurations. Hosting the BRE Summit in India is of paramount importance as we connect national ambitions with the commercial conditions required for their delivery."

Senior officials from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy used the platform to showcase India’s nationwide momentum by announcing a major milestone in the country's clean energy journey. India has officially crossed the 300 GW threshold for non-fossil fuel capacity. Recording 300.50 GW as of 31 July 2026, this capacity accounts for over 54% of India’s total electricity generation. The achievement effectively secures over 60% of the 500 GW target mandated for 2030.

Shri Rajesh Kulhari, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), said, "India’s clean energy transition is a shared national mission that thrives on the leadership of resource-rich states like Rajasthan. With our installed non-fossil capacity having crossed the 300 GW milestone, regional roadshows like this play a vital role in aligning state capabilities with national targets. The Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 will bring the entire value chain together under one roof, providing a world-class platform to translate policy intent into bankable projects, cross-border investments and technological partnerships."

Strengthening Industry Collaboration, the Jaipur roadshow featured a comprehensive program aimed at driving stakeholder engagement and showcasing the strategic blueprint of BRE Summit 2026. The proceedings included the screening of two curated films, India’s Renewable Energy Journey and BRE Summit & Expo 2026, capturing the nation's clean energy transition and unveiling the scale of the upcoming summit in New Delhi.

A detailed presentation by Dr P.K. Dash, Scientist, MNRE, outlined the strategic objectives, core themes and proposed participation framework for global and domestic players. This was followed by a dedicated session on business opportunities and commercial engagement models for OEMs, project developers and investors, alongside a live walkthrough and demonstration of the official BRE Summit digital portal and mobile application. Concluding the session, Shri Ravi Verma, Member of the Governing Council, SPDA, addressed the gathering and delivered the formal vote of thanks, underscoring the industry’s commitment to driving the summit’s collaborative vision forward.

Roadshow Series and Nationwide Outreach: The Jaipur event marks the successful launch of a nationwide outreach campaign designed to mobilize regional momentum. Upcoming roadshows are scheduled to take place in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Kolkata in the coming weeks. The Ministry and organizing partners invite all state governments, utilities and industry stakeholders to actively engage with these upcoming regional sessions.
