Hyderabad, December 4, 2019: The countdown is on for the 4th edition of the Pioneering Ventures Tri Kids Goa 2019 triathlon, India's only triathlon event for school children. To be held on December 8 in Goa, the popular triathlon event is for children in the age group of 6-15 years.
The triathlon is a perfect opportunity to introduce the sport to the next generation and inspire them to lead active, positive, and healthy lifestyles. The event would see participation in the three disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running to be completed in succession.
Since 2016, Goa-based Enduro Sports have been organizing the event in association with the title sponsor - Pioneering Ventures, an agri-food platform in India. Interestingly, Pablo Erat, Co-founder and Partner at the agri-food company, has been a huge role model for budding triathletes across the country. He has won five Goa Triathlon titles in the adult category and participated in over a hundred triathlons around the world.
Speaking on occasion, Pablo Erat, Co-founder at Pioneering Ventures, said, "We passionately promote health and wellbeing in our organization and among the Indian communities in which we operate. We are excited to continue the association with Enduro Sports and help foster the passion for the sport among kids”.
“The enthusiasm and participation of the aspiring young athletes have only been increasing year on year. We await an even bigger edition of the Tri Kid Triathlon in 2019 and widespread involvement of the people in Goa and beyond," he added.
In the past, the event has witnessed around 100 participants from across the country. This year the count has increased to 132 primarily from Goa, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and also cities like Pune, Gandhinagar, Hubbali and Chennai have registered for the event.
Contestants will participate in a classic Triathlon featuring the traditional swim-bike-run format. Distances will be tailored for specific age categories, i.e. for children from 6-8 years, 9-11 years and 12-15 years.
Elias Patel, Co-founder at Enduro Sports, said, "The event provides a lasting positive experience. Each year, we see the young athletes walk away from it with a strong sense of accomplishment and affirmation. Our goal is for every youth to feel a sense of triumph when they cross the finish line. It's about completion, not competition.”
"With young athletes on-hand, we do everything possible to design a safe course, while providing families with a memorable weekend experience that is educational, interactive and fun. Kids triathlon attracts huge numbers of adults, as spectators and fans. In fact, we average four fans for every participant," he added.
Manipal Hospital Goa will be the medical partner for the Tri Kids Goa 2019, which will ensure that the participants have the best medical care available at the event venue.
