Jaipur, March, 2020 Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has said that the State Government is fully alert and vigilant to deal with corona virus. People need not have to be scared as the state government will take every necessary step to prevent it.
Shri Gehlot was reviewing the arrangements made to deal with corona virus during a meeting at his residence on Wednesday. He directed Medical and Health Department officers to issue advisory to collectors of those districts in the state where the group of Italian tourists had visited, as two of the group members were found positive. He also instructed to screen hotel staff and other people who came in contact with these infected Italian tourists.
Chief Minister said that if any person is found with the symptoms of this virus then along with screening, other necessary medical facilities should be provided. The guidelines issued by the Government of India should be followed completely. He directed that people found with the symptoms of this virus should be kept in isolation ward in the hospitals. It should also be ensured that such persons do not come in contact with general public and remain in home isolation.
Chief Minister directed Medical and Health department's additional chief secretary to monitor the situation through video conference with district collectors and medical department officers. Along with set up sufficient isolation ward at all the district hospitals. He appealed to the people of the state to follow the necessary precautions and immediately contact doctors if they find any symptoms of the virus.
Chief Secretary Shri D.B. Gupta said that precautions are being taken after finding symptoms in foreign tourists. Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Shri Rohit Kumar Singh said that necessary directions have been given to district collectors, chief medical and health officers and principal medical officers of the districts which were visited by this group of Italian tourists. Full arrangements are being made to keep those persons in isolation with whom this Italian group came in direct contact. People are being made aware through various mediums as how to prevent themselves from getting infected with this virus.
Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma, Minister of State for Medical and Health Dr. Subhash Garg, Secretary, Medical Education Shri Vaibhav Galariya, Vice Chancellor, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Dr. Rajababu Panwar, NHM Director Shri Naresh Thakral, Chief Executive Officer of State Health Assurance Agency Smt. Suchi Tyagi, Information and Public Relations Commissioner Shri Mahendra Soni, Principal, SMS Medical College Dr. Sudhir Bhandari and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
