Jaipur, May 21, 2020.

The critically-acclaimed series Homecoming returns for its second season on Amazon Prime Video promising a fresh new mystery and an exciting new star, Janelle Monáe.  Her character wakes in a rowboat adrift a lake, with no memory of how she got there — or even who she is. Her ensuing search for identity will lead her into the heart of the Geist Group, the unconventional wellness company behind the Homecoming Initiative.

The second season finds Stephan James reprising his role as Walter Cruz, who is trying to build a new life following the traumas of war and the Homecoming Initiative, when he begins to realize that there’s an even more insidious version of the program underway – if only he can remember. Hong Chau returns as Audrey Temple, an anonymous underling at Geist who finds herself thrust into unexpected positions at the top of the corporate ladder. Joining the cast for season Two are Oscar-winner Chris Cooper as Leonard Geist, the company’s eccentric founder; and Emmy-winner Joan Cusack as Francine Bunda, an equally eccentric military woman.

Narrating her experience of working with co-actor Stephan, Janelle shares, “I love Stephan James. I’ve been a fan of Stephan for a while and when I watched Season 1, I got a chance to understand his character as Walter. I also got to understand him as an actor and I think he has so many layers and there’s so much depth to experiment with different roles. I'm super honored to be working with Stephan. This guy has a lot of different levels to his artistry and as an actor and storyteller, I'm super honored to share frames with him.”

On the other side, Stephan shares, “Janelle adds the great element to the show with her on-screen character in Homecoming Season 2”. Speaking about his experience of working with co-actor Janelle, Stephan shares, “I loved it, it’s been incredible so far. I think Janelle is just really special in terms of just how much she takes her time and is really particular about her working a scene. She’s very giving as an artist so, that’s something that I really appreciate about her. She just adds a great element to the show. I feel she really took this character and owned it completely. I'm excited for people to see her in this light because I don’t think she’s ever done anything like this.
