As India’s annual festive season kickstarts with the auspicious occasions of Navratri, Vijaydashmi/Dussehra, and Durga Puja, Snapchat has launched several localised Augmented Reality (AR) experiences for the local community to co-celebrate and share their joy. Snapchatters can now capture the happiness of this season through vibrant and dynamic AR Lenses, customised with culturally relevant bitmojis and music for each of the three festivals.

Snapchatters can celebrate the nine-day long  festival of Navratri with creative lenses featuring curated music and costumes. These colourful lenses feature dandiya & garba themes for everyone to create and share their own unique greetings with loved ones.

To usher in Durga Puja, Snapchat has launched a special Mahalaya Lens developed by Snap Lens network creator Tanishqua. This goes live on 25th September, seven days before Durga Puja as per tradition and is followed by five different Durga Puja lenses to mark each of the five auspicious puja days. The lenses are complemented by curated, local music and have been developed by Snap’s talented team of Indian lens creators - Tanishqua (Hyderabad), Ishpreet Singh (Ambala), Pradeepa Anadi (Chennai) and Karun Shrestha (Kathmandu).

To celebrate the victory of good over evil this Dussehra, Snap has a special AR experience in store featuring a lively canvas of festive designs and greetings.

From numerous colourful AR Lenses to Bitmojis, there is something for everyone to create, as users look to share unique greetings and spread the joyous spirit of the festive season.
