Jaipur, 24 December : The Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) 2019 concluded with another successful edition in JECC Sitapura. The December Show witnessed a whopping over 40000 trade visitors, buyers, retailers, jewellery design students and other visitors attending over the course of 4 days. Exhibitors are enthusiastic and positive about participating in the next edition of JJS. The 17th edition of the JJS will be held from 19 to 22 December, 2020. This was informed by Chairman of JJS, Mr. Vimal Chand Surana.
Guest of Honor, Commissioner & Secretary, Transport, Mr. Rajesh Yadav said that the jewellery industry should again take up the setting up of the Gem Bourse in the city. He also urged the trade that they should disclose the trade queries received so that the dimension of the event is known. This can also lead to assistance and participation of the Government in the event.
Guest of Honour, Jeweller and MLA from Adarsh Nagar in Jaipur, Mr. Rafeek Khan said that the Gem Bourse was a must and he would represent the trade for its setting up. He also suggested that Agra Road would be an ideal location for setting up the Bourse. Amidst a loud applause, he said the jewellery industry has employed 1 million personnel in Jaipur and it is the lifeline of the business in the city.
Secretary of JJS, Mr. Rajiv Jain said JJS has grown to become the largest show in the country. This year, JJS has witness participation of 500 top retailers and hosted over 800 booths. This year the designer booths showcased exceptional decoration, artwork and creativity which was appreciated by all the visitors. Indology LIVE TV has been a successful addition to the show. This was the first time that jewellery was sold and purchases directly from an exhibition.
Media Coordinator, Mr. Ajay Kala thanked the Jury of the Best Booth Awards and conducted the Valedictory Ceremony.
Daily Raffle and Bumper Draw
The Daily Raffle Draw was sponsored by JJS. The winner of the daily draw on the final day was Shivam Taak. The Bumper Draw was also announced by Mr. Rafeek Khan. The winner was Lakshita Agarwal. The sponsor of the Bumper Draw was JJS. It is to be recalled that on the first day, the daily raffle draw prize was bagged by Seema Jain, on the 2nd and 3rd day the winners were Ravinder Kr. Drona and Meenakshi Soni respectively.
Jewellery Making Machinery and Technology
JJS understands the role of technology in improving the efficiency jewellery design and manufacturing process. As such, the show like last year offered new and innovative technology for businesses to upgrade and expand their trade. Machinery used for, 3D printing, designing, casting, finishing, laser welding, ball making, laser marking & soldering were present at the show. Similarly, jewellery plating equipment, enameling, transparent and colour coating, and other jewellery finishing machinery were also an added feature of the show. A special ‘Photo Sphere’ for capturing still and 3D photos for product photography was also exhibited here.
Gemology and Jewellery Design Courses and Trade Publications
Gemology and Jewellery design institutions like – The Gemological Institute of America, Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India, among others have also set up their stalls at the show to offer various courses in jewellery, gemstones, and colored gemstones essentials. Jewellery enthusiasts, designers and students also evinced keen interest in various trade publications like books on jewellery, minerals, enamels, metals and much more.
Vendor Awards
As in the past years, around 40 vendors were awarded for their continuous support to JJS. The awardees received a certificated as a token of appreciation. The awards were given away by Mr. Rajesh Yadav, Mr. Rafeek Yadav, Mr. Vimal Chand Surana and Mr. Rajiv Jain.
