Goa, February, 2021: FC Goa National Soccer Camps Online, supported by German giants RB Leipzig, is all set to begin on 15 February, and offers kids aged 6-18 an opportunity to get access to the best in class football coaching and realise their dreams.

FC Goa and RB Leipzig partnered earlier this year with the aim of focusing on Youth Development. FC Goa’s focus on youth development and grassroots is well documented, and this partnership presents an opportunity to exchange ideas and make footballing knowledge more easily accessible.

The Online National Camp is set to be the first step of this partnership. This is a one of a kind program where children can learn the basics of football from the comfort of their home in a structured manner. It will allow participants to play, learn and engage with football at their own pace and in their own time.  With a specially curated curriculum, designed by FC Goa Technical Director Derrick Pereira, with technical inputs by the RB Leipzig coaches, the program promises to give an added boost to the development of the player. The aim of this program is to make quality coaching accessible to children across the country.

As a part of the program, participants will receive exclusive benefits such as video tutorials, specific training plans, master classes and interactions with FC Goa players and coaches, special sessions from RB Leipzig, one-on-one coach assistance, and expert sessions to understand the laws of the game, tactical basics, first aid, nutrition and more.

We have started this program because we want to develop the next generation of footballers in the country,” says FC Goa Technical Director Derrick Pereira.

Indian football teams used to struggle against other countries earlier because our players did not begin playing till they became teenagers, and through this program, we aim to make sure that kids start playing early and have all the tools to succeed.”

The Club strongly believes in development of football & the community, scouting for the best young talent and developing & encouraging emerging players to achieve their potential. Even during these times of the pandemic, the teaching of football doesn’t stop and the Club strives to ensure that the kids keep learning

.

We want to get kids attracted to football by introducing them to platforms such as these and get them involved in the basics right from the age of 6,” Derrick Pereira continued.

It is important that kids have fun with football first and then gradually get introduced to the importance of concepts such as nutrition, training, tactics etc. This is why the Soccer Camps program will also be structured in such a way.”

By enrolling for the program, young players will become a part of FC Goa’s community and ecosystem and going forward will be contacted for nationwide on ground camps and trials.

Three courses have been offered as a part of the program, namely, Beginner FreeBeginner Standard and Beginner Max, with the last two being paid courses.

The last date to register for the Beginner Max course is 10th February 2021, with special 10% discounts for Junior Members and Digital Members.
