Jaipur, 24 October. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has asked the Medical and Health Department to prepare a work plan to make Rajasthan a healthy state. He said an awareness campaign should be prepared which focuses on Healthy Liver, prevention from Hepatitis B & C and other health standards to make Rajasthan a disease Free State. He directed to form a sub group under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary for this purpose.
Shri Gehlot was addressing during the presentation focusing liver and health standards given by the well known gastroenterologist and Director of Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences Dr. S. K. Sarin here at CMO on Thursday. The Chief Minister said providing better healthcare facility and education is in the top priority of the state government. In this backdrop, such awareness programme could be important in ensuring better healthcare for people.
The Chief Minister directed anganbari centers, school, colleges and other institutions should be involved in this awareness programme and this programme should also be organised in the series of programmes organised on 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Ji and 75th Birth Anniversary of Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji, he said.
Shri Gehlot said we need to generate awareness about the misconceptions in the society regarding Hepatitis B & C and this campaign can play an important role in eradicating these misconceptions. He also directed that a plan should be prepared for compulsory vaccination of Hepatitis and its legal aspects.
Dr. S. K. Sarin during his presentation laid emphasis on generating awareness among the society for the prevention from diseases related to liver. He also said we need to change the mindset of public regarding Hepatitis.
Medical and Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma, Minister of State for Education Shri Govind Singh Dotasara, Chief Secretary Shri D. B. Gupta and senior officials of various departments concerned were present in the meeting.
