Jaipur, January, 2020: Nagarro, one of the leading IT consulting and services companies in the country, has launched Electric Cars for employee commute. The vehicles are deployed in partnership with Lithium Urban Technologies, India’s first EV cab services company. The launch is also the first-of-its kind initiative by a tech company in Jaipur towards adoption of electric vehicles for green commute.

Commenting on the launch NeerajChhibba, VP, Nagarro said, “Nagarro has had a strong focus on environment which has been visible through its support for the Raahgiri movement.  Always on the lookout for a sustainable solution for its transport needs, Nagarro found the right partner in Lithium, first in Gurugram and now in Jaipur. It was extremely important for us to be an early adopter so that we can show to the corporate world that a economically viable model that works now exists. Though our start in Jaipur is a small one, we sincerely hope that this will ignite change in Jaipur and make other companies think of moving to electric vehicles quickly.”

Speaking on foraying into Jaipur alongside Nagarro, Vikash Mishra, Head of External Relations, Lithium Urban Technologies said, “Lithium was founded with the sole motive of changing the face of mobility, keeping in mind three of our most important stakeholders – businesses, people and our planet. With Lithium’s foray into Jaipur, we are positive of the impact it will create in the city’s outlook towards sustainable mobility. We are honoured to be chosen as Nagarro’s employee transportation partner. The continued association comes as a validation to our unique business model. We are thankful to Nagarro for supporting our goal of creating a sustainable environment for our future generations and driving India’s EV Agenda 2030, one tailpipe at a time.”

The launch is in line with Nagarro’s green mobility initiative under which the company aims to gradually move towards a completely clean and green employee transport system. It has also set up charging stations in its premise to encourage its employees using personal vehicles to move to electric vehicles. Last year, Nagarro had also launched an EV fleet in Gurgaon for its employees. With these efforts the company aims to reduce 150MT of CO2 emissions annually. In addition to EV fleet for its employees, Nagarro has also deployed e-scooters and e-bicycles to further improve last mile connectivity in a bid to encourage green public commuting habit among employees.
