  Jaipur, October,16. District Collector Shri Jagroop Singh Yadav has issued orders that firecrackers should not be used in the district from 10 pm to 6 am. The use of firecrackers is prohibited at restricted times and in quiet enclosure sites. In addition, on various social and cultural occasions at other places, collectively, for the usage of  highly polluting and sound amplifying fireworks in public places, No objection from the concerned local body and prior approval of the concerned Sub Divisional Magistrate or Deputy Commissioner of Police will be required. If any organizer or person is found violating this order without permission, action will be taken against him.

As per the order, in the judgment passed by Hon'ble Supreme Court on July,18, 2015  regarding noise pollution caused by firecrackers and fireworks, detailed guidelines have been provided regarding control of noise pollution caused by firecrackers and by other means. According to them, the use of sound-producing firecrackers is prohibited from 10 pm to 6 am. The Ministry of Environment and Forests also notified on January 11, 2010 that noise pollution (regulation and control) (Rule 5A (2) of the Amendment Rules 2010) provides for no provision of using  sound-emitting firecrackers in a quiet area or at night.

Shri. Yadav said that it is often seen that on various festivals and other socio-cultural ceremonies etc. huge amount of pollution increased due to over fireworks are fired. This not only causes noise pollution but also increases the excessive amount of air pollution. Fireworks have adverse effects on the health of humans and animals and birds as well as sick and asthma-prone people have to face extreme hardship. Students and competitive examinations candidates are also affected due to this.

District Collector Shri. Yadav has requested all citizens to avoid using noise and air pollution-causing firecrackers and over fireworks on various social, cultural occasions, and in case of extreme need only responsible minimum green firecrackers can be used for fireworks.
