In a heartfelt stride toward making education
equitable and accessible, Girnar Foundation successfully completed its Book
Bank Program in July 2025, across three Jaipur schools—L.N. Secondary School
(Kartarpura), Satyam Senior Secondary School, and St. Joseph Academy. The
initiative distributed 750+ syllabus books to students from marginalized
communities based on their individual academic needs. These books will benefit
not only the current recipients but also future batches through a sustainable
lending model.
The program brought to light an important
learning: while many students have the drive to learn, the lack of access to
basic academic materials like textbooks often becomes a major hurdle. For some
children, this was the first time they held a full set of course books at the
beginning of the academic year—an emotional moment for both students and
facilitators.
Pihu Jain, Head, Girnar Foundation said
– “It was more than just giving books—it was about restoring dignity,
confidence, and the belief that their dreams matter.” We designed the Book Bank
Program to be a revolving resource. By encouraging students to take care of and
return the books after use, we’re not just helping one batch—we’re enabling a
legacy of shared learning.”
The Book Bank model is part of Girnar
Foundation’s long-term vision of building community-owned educational
ecosystems, where learning materials are seen as shared assets. This shift from
charity to empowerment is what the Foundation hopes to inspire across all its
programs.
