Jawahar Kala Kendra will host a 2-day event on 26-27th February in collaboration with Bikaner based cultural organisation Lokayan & Rajasthan Kabir Yatra. The “Sang Kabir Music Festival” will be celebrating the teachings and traditions of the 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint Kabir Das, a spiritual master known for his humility & simplicity who still inspires millions across the world through his writings and dohas that are practical in approach and life-transforming.

The festival will explore Kabir and his composite culture through a range of musical performances and sessions by renowned artists in the open theatre of Jawahar Kala Kendra between 6:00 PM-10:00 PM. On 26th February, the inauguration ceremony will be marked by the performances of Kaluramji Bamaniya and a group who belong to a vibrant tradition of singing bhakti poets such as Kabir, Gorakhnath, Bananath and Meera in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. It will be followed by “Melodies of the Thar”, where Mir Basu and his troupe from Pugal, Rajasthan, will be showering some undiscovered hues of Kabir. The day will be concluded by the Murshidabadi Project, a young generation of artists from West Bengal. It is a Sufi initiative to explore and experiment with Sufi Literature and Indian Music. It features Swetketu Banerjee on Sitar and Soumyadeep Murshidabadi on Vocals.

Also there will be an art session from 4pm to 5:30pm, "Rangrez", by artist Amit Kalla where we will discover a deep connection to a cultural expression of a universal spirituality and passionate sense of humanity of Kabir.

On 27th February, the audience will be witnessing the beautiful “Kabir Ki Daastan” a Musical Dastangoi by the stunning duo, Himanshu Bajpai and Vedanth Bhardawaj from Lucknow and Chennai respectively. The festival will wind down with an electrifying performance of Neeraj Arya’s Kabir Café, a Mumbai based folk fusion band known for performing songs composed out of Saint Kabir's Dohas.
