2 December, 2019: In an endeavor to bring Health Awareness, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram in association with Rotary Club, Rewari organized one of the biggest Super specialty Health Camp in Rewari, Haryana.  The camp saw participation from over 1000 people and more than 700 benefitted from free medical services and medical tests.

The attendees were given free medical consultation by Senior Doctors of Fortis Hospital, Gurugram. The main motive of the camp was to create awareness and educate people on the importance of different medical ailments, its diagnosis, treatment and intervention. This camp is one of such events where the people of Rewari saw participation from Directors of different medical specialties and gave consultation on diseases related to Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Urology and Diabetes/Endocrinology.

Senior Consultants who participated in the event included - Dr. Salil Jain, Director, Nephrology &Kidney Transplant, Dr. Rinkesh Bansal, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary Sciences, Dr. Rohit Goel, Consultant Cardiology.Consultation for Urology was offered by Dr. Mayank Bharti, Consultant, Urology, Oncology and Robotic Surgery and consultation for Diabetes related issues were offered by Dr. Mona Sood, Consultant, Endocrinology and Consultation for Bone and Joint was offered by Dr. Gajanand Yadav, Associate Consultant, Orthopaedician.

Dr. Salil Jain, Director & HOD, Nephrology & Kidney Transplant, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram said,   “Due to changing lifestyle and an increased prevalence of diabetes and high blood pressure in population of Rewari and neighboring cities, the number of patients suffering from kidney diseases has increased significantly over the past few years. This is a reason for increase in the number of patients on dialysis. To ensure healthy Kidney functioning, it is essential to diagnose the disease on time and to take necessary preventive measures.  If one notices swelling on the face or feet, pain in the pelvis, pain or a burning sensation while urinating, a frequent need to urinate, frothy urine these may be symptoms of nephritis. It is appealed to not to ignore these signs and consult the doctor in case any of the symptoms are noticed.”

In addition to this, free Blood Pressure Checkup, Blood Sugar Checkup, was also carried to create awareness about diabetes and hypertension which is one of the most worrisome and common health issues prevalent in this region.  ECG, Urine Deposit test and Bone Densitometry was also done on the attendees of the Health Camp.
